What's Included in a Mobile Car Detail (and How Often You Need One in the Tropics)

"Detailing" gets thrown around to mean everything from a servo car wash to a full paint correction. So here's what an actual mobile car detail includes when we rock up — inside and out — and how often your car really needs one in Far North Queensland.

A detail isn't a car wash

A car wash gets the loose dirt off. A detail is a deep clean and restore, top to bottom — the stuff that makes an older car look years younger and keeps a newer one that way.

Outside

  • Proper hand wash and decontamination — not just a quick hose-off
  • Wheels, tyres and guards cleaned and dressed
  • Bugs, sap and road grime removed
  • Cut & polish to knock out swirls, oxidation and light scratches (on the fuller details)
  • A protective layer — wax, sealant or ceramic coating — to help it last

Inside

  • Full vacuum — seats, carpets, boot, and down between the seats
  • Dash, console, doors and vents wiped down and dressed
  • Seats shampooed, or leather cleaned and conditioned
  • Windows cleaned inside (no more glare at sunset)
  • Odour treated and that humid, musty tropical smell sorted

How often in FNQ?

More often than the brochures say, because our climate is relentless. Rough guide:

  • Full detail every 3–6 months to stay on top of the sun, salt and humidity.
  • A maintenance detail in between if you're near the coast, park under trees, or cart kids, dogs and tradie gear around.
  • Before you sell — a good detail pays for itself several times over in what it adds to the sale price.

Why mobile?

Because you've got better things to do than sit at a detailer for half a day. We come to your place with our own water and power, do the lot in your driveway, and you get on with your day. Same result, none of the hassle.
